About Us
Chris Hurtt and Kevin Focht both just love photography to the core.
“Between the two of us, we have over 40 years of experience to draw upon. We also come at it from different perspectives, which is wonderful!”
Chris is a landscape and architecture guy and Kevin loves to shoot people.
“What one of us doesn’t know, the other specializes in. That makes a really powerful combination.”
With countless published images and covers between the two of them, both are still working photographers. This is a huge plus as instructors, because they are current in their approach and technical knowledge.
Both Chris and Kevin teach online and do seminars worldwide. They are now bringing their photographic knowledge to the Northwest market, because they both call Portland home.

Our Philosphy
We believe photographic workshops and seminars should be informative and fun. There is no reason to sit there trying to learn in a sterile and boring environment.
Have fun learning what you love to do, with a couple of fun loving guys.
We don’t believe in secrets of the craft, like there is some special magic wand that will make you a great photographer.
Don’t worry your head won’t explode from the information….we promise (although Kevin does have a huge head that makes you wonder).
What we are trying to get across here, is that we love teaching and without the stodgy attitude.
So whether you are just learning photography, or want to up your game, we have something for you!
Our Space
The workshop space is our working studio in the South East Industrial area of Portland, Oregon near OMSI. Northern and southern light stream through the glass roll up doors on both sides of the studio. We are also located in the Southeast industrial area, with the Southeast waterfront walkway a few blocks away.
The studio is stocked with studio lighting as well as everything needed to teach just about any type of photography.
